Amy Fleishans is a student at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University specializing in public relations. She is a member of Barrett, the Honors College and has qualified for the Dean’s list for all seven of her semesters at ASU. While in school, her goal is to supplement classroom learning with practical experience through internships and out-of-the-classroom experiences.
Amy has interned at four local public relations agencies: E.B. Lane, Off Madison Ave and Zion & Zion, all full-service agencies, and David and Sam PR, a boutique agency. Amy worked on creating media lists, drafting press releases, pitching and securing coverage of stories to the local media and planning and implementing social media campaigns for clients. In addition, she was a marketing intern for the Phoenix Symphony. Amy worked for ASU’s student-run, daily newspaper, The State Press, for two semesters.
Amy is involved in ASU’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter and is vice president for the Downtown Dance Team. She was an assistant editor for The Triple Helix, an international undergraduate science journal last school year.
